The instrument is based on an AFM, in which a standard tip is vertically vibrating at the resonance frequency of the cantilever.
The AFM tip will be illuminated with a DFG mid-infrared continuum laser with ~ 350 cm-1 spectral bandwidth and tunable central frequency (1200 -1600 cm-1), inducing a wide range mid-IR source
